BBC iPlayer gets another iPhone app

February 5, 2010

An application developed by Camiloo will allow owners of the Apple iPhone to access the BBC iPlayer on the device and it will be made available for the Apple iPad as soon as it becomes available on the market.

The application, called Rewatch, is a third party application that gives the user the chance to download the iPlayer’s selection of programmes.

The Rewatch app will also give the user access to streaming radio and television programmes, while at the same time check for “Tweets” on the programmes that are being watched.

The Rewatch app is currently being checked out by the Apple iPhone App submission team.

If it is accepted as an iPhone app it will be going on sale at £1.19.

Comment from BBC (added 09.02.10):

‘Camiloo is not a licensed distributor of BBC content online or on mobile.

The BBC routinely looks for unauthorised usage of our brand across all platforms and when we encounter it we work to resolve the issue.’
