The sale of set top boxes in the Asian market is expected to continue to rise over the next the few years until 2014.
According to information released by ABI Research, it is estimated that sales could be approaching 111 million in 2014, taking year-on-year sales increase of twelve per cent into consideration.
So far it is China that is driving the market, with demand outstripping that of any other region.
In fact this market is so productive that makers of set top box equipment in China are becoming takeover targets for major manufacturers such as Cisco, which recently took over the cable set top box unit of DVN.
This market is set to see unprecedented growth as the next generation HD set top boxes are rolled across the region.
