French Versailles Court of Appeal has confirmed a previous judgement in the case opposing Canal+ Distribution to DTT news channel BFM over audience manipulation and unfair competition.
Last December, the Court of Commerce of Nanterre had ordered that the pay-TV group put an end to the operation tuning CanalSat receivers automatically to Canal+’s news channel I>Télé.
If Canal+ did not conform to the decision, the fine would amount to €10,000 per delayed hour.
Canal+ immediately appealed the decision, only to finally lose again.
