The cable TV provider, Virgin Media, is continuing the acquisition and roll out of high definition TV channels for its UK subscribers with the addition of Discovery HD.

However, although the announcement clearly states that Discovery HD will be available soon, this could mean mid to late spring.

Once the channel is broadcast it will be showing around fifteen hundred hours of content in clear crisp high definition.

The content will include Extreme Engineering, Mythbusters, NASA’s Greatest Missions and Bear Grylls: Born Survivor.

According to the executive director of digital entertainment at Virgin Media, Cindy Rose, the company will be adding several more HD channels to its network over the next few months.
