As the BBC looks for places where money can be saved, it looks like the focus has moved to BBC Vision, the department responsible for TV and video content.

At the moment the director general of the BBC, Mark Thompson is reviewing all of the BBC’s activities in order to find where cuts could be made.

According to the director of BBC Vision, Jane Bennett, in a meeting with producers it was said that the BBC wants to cut expenditure and digital spending is likely to be in the firing line.

BBC Vision is responsible for producing digital content for the BBC websites, including the recent addition of online video spin-offs from popular BBC programmes.

In 2009 BT Vision spent £199 million on digital content most of which went on BBC3 and BBC4.
