MPs urge unity over BBC Alba

by David Allen

The row over BBC Alba continues, with many individual MSPs calling for the service to be made available though the Freeview service.

However is seems that this approach may not be having the desired affect and therefore a change of tactics is required.

To this end the MSP representing the Western Isles, Alasdair Allan is calling for the MSPs to join forces, despite their different political views, in order for the cause to get a single but much larger voice.

BBC Alba has been a great success, but in order for all Gaelic speakers to see the channel it would need to be carried through the Freeview digital television service.

The MSPs feel that their combined voices will make the BBC and Freeview come to an early decision.
