Samsung has announced its attempt at an iPhone killer handset, featuring the company’s new Bada platform.
The Samsung Wave boasts a 3.3 inch AMOLED touchscreen, 1GHz processor, a 5 megapixel camera, 2GB of storage, GPS, bluetooth and wi-fi.
The touchscreen is a fancy super-AMOLED affair, which will be smudge resistant, apparently, and capable of playing HD video. The camera will also be capable of 720p video capture.
Running Samsung’s own Bada operating system, the Wave will boast the latest version of the company’s TouchWiz 3D interface, and integrated social networking support.
If Samsung can pitch the price right, this package certainly seems slick enough to give Apple a run for their money. However, attracting developers and apps to the phone will be paramount, as well.
The Samsung Wave should be gushing into our high streets come April.
