BBC digitises Henry Moore archives

by David Allen

The BBC has built its world famous reputation on quality programming that reaches areas untouched by soaps and light entertainment.

This is the art world and the BBC has played its part in making the subject of art accessible to all, should the market be there still.

Using the BBC archives a new series is to be made, this time focussing on the sculptor Henry Moore.

The series will use archived material from previous interviews and documentaries to produce Henry Moore at the BBC.

It will be produced by John Read and with the help of The Henry Moore Foundation the archive will be digitised, so that it can be easily packaged for other broadcasters to use and can be made available online through the Henry Moore Foundation website.
