Kindle e-reader now on BlackBerry

Darren Allan

The good news for BlackBerry book fans is that Amazon is putting out a Kindle app for the fruity smartphone. At least in the US, anyway.

The Kindle e-reader app will give users direct access to the Kindle store, where over 400,000 books line the virtual shelves.

The app will be free, as indeed are some of the books on Kindle, although if you want to pick up the latest best-seller, then naturally that’s going to cost you.

While this is a State-side move at the moment, it should happen in the UK eventually.

The release comes in advance of the iPad launch, which is seen as a potential rival to Kindle’s e-reading dominance.
