Phorm in BT’s side

February 26, 2010

Phorm is an issue that simply will not leave BT alone.

It has been three or four years since BT and Phorm conducted trials on the internet service provider’s customers’ internet surfing habits, but without their knowledge.

Despite there being a huge anti Phorm campaign by customers and other concerned internet users, investigations by the City of London Police have gone nowhere.

In fact the case is still with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), which according to ispreview.co.uk is still assessing the case.

The Phorm issue is not going away for either BT or the government.

In fact, the EU is still pressing the government for details on these secret trials and while Phorm is still around, most of the UK ISP’s are keeping its targeted advertising system at arm’s length.
