Cartoonito to join Virgin Media

by David Allen

A new deal has been agreed between the cable TV operator Virgin Media and the pre school TV channel Cartoonito.

The deal will see the channel that regularly shows such favourites as Care Bears, Fireman Sam and Hi 5, available to Virgin Media customers on the L and XL Cable TV package, as from the beginning of April.

As of yet Virgin Media has not assigned a channel number, although other content from the Cartoonito network, such as Go and Karaoke, will also be available on the cable provider’s on-demand platform.

The deal makes Cartoonito a big player in the pay TV market for pre school children and as it is part of the Turner Broadcasting organisation.

This means that other family type content will become available via the Virgin Media on-demand service.
