Bing to sponsor The Simpsons

For the first time on UK TV the software giant Microsoft is to sponsor a programme and of course the show just has to be The Simpsons.

Every time the show is aired on Channel Four and Channel Four+1 the sponsorship deal will mean that advertising for the search engine Bing will appear at the beginning, the end and when there is a commercial break, making a total of four times per episode.

The sponsorship deal is just part of the major push being made by Microsoft to get Bing in front of as many people as possible in order to encourage internet to users to switch from Google.

Currently Bing has around 3.4 per cent of the UK search market.
