Sky buys 15,000 3D TVs from LG

March 17, 2010

It is being reported that BSkyB has signed a deal with the Korean manufacturer of Televisions, LG.

This deal is said to be for around fifteen thousand 3D Ready televisions and is believed to be the beginning of the build up to the launch of the Sky 3D Channel in pubs and bars, next month.

This roll out will continue to the so called top tier BSkyB subscribers towards the end of the year.

This is a huge deal, for both Sky TV and LG with the televisions appearing in the venues just before the April launch of 3D Premier League matches.

Details of the cost to venues, or exactly how Sky has worked this deal out with the pub owners, are still not known.
