by David Allen

A brand new high definition TV set-top-box is about to be launched in the UK and this time it is Virgin Media subscribers who will have the chance to go HD.

The V HD Box is due to be launched on the 22nd March.

It will be available to all Virgin Media subscribers, new and old, for the price of £49, although there is a charge for installation to be added to that fee.

This new set box has been produced for Virgin Media by Cisco and in line with other HD set top boxes it will also be 3D Ready.

The set top box will not come with a personal video recorder (PVR) as this upgraded model will be released later on in the year.

  1. I don’t get it. Why is this better than or different to the V+ box which is already available (http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html/tv/vplus-hd-box.html)? In fact this is worse as it doesn’t have a recorer built in. What’s the story?
