Spotify looking to join in the Xbox fun

The music streaming business Spotify may be looking at games consoles as a way of expanding its service to reach more consumers.

The games console equipment business has fast become a battle ground for digital services following the introduction of catch up TV services on certain pieces of kit.

Spotify has hinted that it could be interested in running a service that works with games consoles, as this is a platform that is showing some growth and Spotify is not new to making innovative decisions.

The service is about to go live on the new Vivaz smartphone from Sony Ericsson.

With seven million subscribers, Spotify has made some good growth since its launch and yet the company still struggles to make any serious headway into the US market.
