Netgem has been busy at the IPTV World Forum, demonstrating the UK’s first High-Definition Freeview+ Hybrid DTT set top box, as well as announcing the launch of its iPhone application.

In partnership with IP Vision, Netgem is showcasing the FetchTV SmartBox 8320HD at the event.

The STB features Netgem’s latest DVB-T2 hardware reference design.

It has a 320GB hard drive, access to Freeview HD broadcast channels, and supports all FetchTV features including standard and high definition video on demand, upscaling of Freeview SD broadcasts, Wi-Fi connectivity, Freeview+ functionality and access to streaming video, photos and music from connected devices through the FetchTV media centre.

In another partnership, with telecom operator Monaco Telecom, Netgem has launched its iPhone application.

The application, which will be available in June 2010, will allow iPhone users to control the interactive Monaco TV service powered by NetgemTV via their mobile phone.

Martin Péronnet, Monaco Telecom’s managing director, said: “The feature rich TV service we have created with Netgem, allows us to seamlessly integrate broadcast and Internet delivered content into one very easy user experience. Adding a mobile service is an exciting step in our innovation roadmap.”
