Kylo is a TV-based web-browser that’s designed to make web-surfing easy from the sofa when looking at the TV.

So far so good, but it seems Hulu users are struggling, or else – suggests Kylo staffers – Hulu isn’t letting Kylo play with its ball!

The early Monday news was that the Kylo web-browser would let users who have physically connected their TVs to their PC (or Macs) in order that the TV set might access the web and its users enjoy an easier life.

Hillcrest Labs said that “Kylo would let the millions of households that connect their PCs or Macs to the TV, and let users visit any site on the Web with a browser that was specifically designed to be viewed from a distance in the family room, living room, or dorm room.”

But not, it seems, with VoD site Hulu.

Hillcrest Labs’ CEO, Dan Simpkins, in a mid-Monday note said: “We are currently investigating why Hulu videos are not playing within the Kylo browser.

“Prior to our formal launch, Hulu videos would play within the Kylo browser. Like Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari, the Kylo browser is simply a Web browser.

It’s our sincere hope that Hulu isn’t restricting access.”
