It is a critical time for the multi channel backed Project Canvas, with decisions being made as to whether or not the online TV service is going to get the thumbs up or not.

So in order to make sure that Project Canvas has the best possible start, the BBC executive Anthony Rose, who recently revamped the BBC’s iPlayer has made the switch to Project Canvas.

It is hoped that he will be able to do the same thing with the video on demand service, which according to sources within the BBC will have a marketing budget of around £48.4 million available during the first four years of operation.

Project Canvas is a priority for the BBC, having seen Project Kangaroo hop off to become SeeSaw.
