Panasonic launches the S20 Freeview HDTV

As more new televisions are released by the manufacturers, there is a trend to offer them with the Freeview HD digital TV service already installed.

The latest television from Panasonic is the S20 and it comes into the range just above the X20 Plasma range of TVs.

The Panasonic S20 uses 600 Hz technology, which relates to the refresh rate or frames per second.

However, in the case of this television 600 Hz does not necessarily mean 600 frames per second as Panasonic has a sub-field drive, so although it would appear to be 600 fps it is not.

Not only does the S20 offer superior picture quality, the user gets the benefit of free to view high definition viewing, which currently includes BBC HD, ITV HD and Channel Four HD.

There are two versions of the S20, the 42 inch at around £900 and the 50 inch at around £1000.
