Subhash Chandra seems to have been right in forecasting that as India’s DTH market expanded with multiple players spending heavily to promote satellite reception, Dish TV would see an exponential growth pattern.

Dish TV’s latest data is that it has crossed the 7m DTH subs mark, and is targeting another 2.5 million in the year ahead, according to Jawahar Goel, CEO at Dish TV.

Any pay-TV operator also knows that winning subscribers is but the first challenge.

The second challenge is in holding onto that subscriber, and thus minimising churn.

As part of its anti-churn efforts, Dish TV is launching (according to Indian Television.com) a new ‘recharge’ offer, where customers will get 4-months worth of subscription for paying upfront for 3 months of TV.
