Virgin Media picks Pixelmetrix

A deal has been signed between cable TV provider Virgin Media and the preventative monitoring system provider for digital TV and IPTV services, Pixelmetrix.

The deal will see the Pixelmetrix product known as the Electronic Couch Potato (ECP) rolled out across the Virgin Media digital television network.

The ECP is a test robot that monitors exactly what the subscriber is doing through the set top box.

It can provide Virgin Media with accurate measurements of the end users’ activities.

In the UK, Digi-Box is the official distributor of the Pixelmetrix products and will be involved in the distribution of the ECP service.

For Virgin Media it is a chance to make sure that everything its customers require from the service is available and working properly as the ECP should provide this kind of feedback.
