ITV to push HD channel

by David Allen

With the long awaited launch of ITV1 in high definition, it could be assumed that digital TV viewers would automatically chose HD over the standard definition version of the channel, but ITV feels the need to tell everyone that ITV1 is available in HD too.

In order to get the message across, ITV will be running a series of adverts staring today.

This is the first advertising campaign for the HD channel and it will explain all of the benefits of watching ITV1 in HD.

The advert has been created by ITV Creative.

It will feature ITV stars Ant and Dec who walk around a studio with plenty of HD scenes happening around them.

The advert will be shown in cinemas as well as on TV.

The ad will be supported by a press and poster campaign that will be using other ITV talent to get the message across.
