Astra 3B launch postponed again

April 12, 2010

Just as the launch of the Ariane 5 rocket from the European Space Port at Kourou in French Guiana was expected on Friday, it seems that the countdown had once again been stopped, cancelling the flight once more.

Initially the Ariane 5 rocket was supposed to have been launched back on the 24th March.

It was delayed twice and now for a third time the rocket, which was set to put the Astra 3B and the Comsat BW 2 satellites into orbit, has been cancelled, following the discovery of what has been described as an anomaly within the rocket’s pressurisation system.

A new date for the launch has not been provided as of yet, but it is expected that Arianespace will need to come up with the goods soon.
