Lonely Planet launches free iPhone Apps

April 20, 2010

Travelling may not be the priority at the moment, but Lonely Planet is offering free travel guides for iPhone users with essential information that covers the cities affected by the flight ban over Europe.

Normally the city guides would be priced at £9.49, but with thousands of travellers stranded throughout Europe, these guides are free of charge until the 22nd April.

The cities covered by the iPhone download are: Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Budapest, Copenhagen, Istanbul, London, Moscow, Munich, Paris, Rome, Stockholm and Vienna.

This is a good move by Lonely Planet because even when the flights begin again, not everyone is going to be able to get away immediately.

The guide can help with all types of information from the essential to the practical.
