Pace looking at STB goal

The UK-based set-top-box maker, Pace, is looking forward to the World Cup in South Africa, not just because of the prospects of England winning or getting close at least, but mainly because the company is expecting a surge in new business as the event’s opening date gets closer.

This will be the first World Cup final to be broadcast in high definition and anyone that has watched football in HD will know that the picture is so much better, especially on a larger screen television.

Because of this, Pace is expecting the number of consumers ordering HD set-top-boxes to increase.

In fact the company is saying that the first half of 2010 will be much stronger than the second half of the year when it comes to set-top-box sales.
