Splinter Cell: Conviction holds video game top spot

Ubisoft has managed to hold on to the number one and two slots in the UK all-format video game chart, as compiled by Chart Track.

For the second week running, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Conviction showed the, erm, conviction to remain top of the heap.

And the company’s Just Dance game boogied along happily at number two. Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City kept its place at number three, as well.

Sales for the static top three actually slipped considerably – in fact Splinter Cell was down by 46% – but the rest of the chart couldn’t take advantage to catch up.

Wii Fit Plus did capitalise with steady sales to climb a place to number four, however.

Number five witnessed the big new entry in the top ten, Capcom’s Monster Hunter Tri, also on the Wii.

This week’s other new entry, Dead to Rights: Retribution, only managed number twenty-two.

EA’s Battlefield: Bad Company 2 was at number six, followed by Wii Sports Resort.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 went back up one place to number eight, defying our prediction that it would finally slip out of the top ten this week.

But confirming our prediction that having predicted that, it was bound to go back up in the charts.
