BT’s cable goes missing

David Allen -

As the price of scrap metal increases, the temptation to steal all sorts of metal left out in the open appears to have become irresistible to metal thieves.

One of the major sources of metal is the copper cable used by BT for its phone and broadband service and thousands of BT customers throughout Kent are currently suffering the after effects of such a theft in their area.

This time the theft took place in Farningham, where thieves cut six cables in five different places to get away with around 3 Km’s of copper cable, so the people behind this must have some serious equipment and skills.

Unlike fibre optic cable, which has little value, the price of scrap copper continues to increase.

There could be message in there somewhere!
