SNP launches legal action against BBC

April 28, 2010

As the final and probably most important leaders’ debate airs on the BBC tomorrow, the SNP is about to launch a legal challenge against the BBC, after raising over £50,000 in online donations.

The weekly debates have included the leaders of the main parties, but excluded the SNP leader Alex Salmond despite him being the first minister of Scotland.

The debates were initially set up so that the electorate can listen to the answers given by the person who will be the next Prime Minister, something that Alex Salmond cannot be.

However, this has not stopped the complaints from coming in and now, as the debates come to a close, legal action from the SNP looks set to upset what appears to have revitalised politics in the UK.
