Celebs worry about BBC under Tories

April 30, 2010

An open letter will appear in this weekend’s Observer, signed by around fifty or so celebrities, all of whom fear the worst for the BBC should the Conservatives win the General Election next week.

The celebrities, including David Tennant, Catherine Tate, Eddie Izzard, Harry Enfield, Jo Brand, John Barrowman and Meera Syal are worried that a Tory win could mean that the BBC will be restricted, so that commercial rivals can take advantage of the changing market.

According to the Conservatives these claims are nonsense and the BBC has nothing to worry about.

The letter does say that it is right that there is national debate over the future of the BBC.

It is not yet known how many of the celebrities are actually on the payroll of the BBC!

Sounds like Celebs worried about the amount in their pockets!
There are more important issues than what’s on TV. Such a selfish attitude.
