Taiwan based Hitron Technologies Inc plans to launch a high-end fibre router with guaranteed Gigabit capability at ANGA cable, Europe’s leading Trade Fair for cable, broadband and satellite.

The GVE-39320 router will allow telcos, ISPs and cable operators with fibre to easily provide high-speed internet access.

The router consistently delivers broadband speeds of up to 958Mbps because of its incorporated network accelerators.

This will allow multiple live streaming of video, and any mix of VOD, phone, internet or live TV capability.

The GVE-39320 router also comes with an embedded UPnP/DLNA server and will be available from ZON Multimedia in June.

Rudy Zijlstra, CTO at Hitron Europe GmbH, commented: “This router breaks new ground as, unlike many routers on the market today that cut out in the 50-80Mb range, Hitron’s specialist expertise in router development ensures that the GVE-39320 can deliver speeds of up to 956Mb without any issues.

“The router’s UPnP/DLNA capabilities are of particular interest to cable operators as this enables them to provide NAS (network assisted storage) to their customers, which no-one else is currently doing.

“Meanwhile, as fibre network deployment is fast picking up speed across Europe, our fibre router gives operators the opportunity to take full advantage of this roll-out with unrivalled speeds for the delivery of a wide range of services.”
