IoM invests in mobile broadband

The main telecom provider on the Isle of Man, Manx Telecom, is looking at investing £1 million into the island’s mobile broadband network.

The investment will be used to improve the connection speeds and coverage of mobile broadband on the island.

This will also help out with tourism as visitors to the island will be able to access a 3G network.

This will be true for Pay As You Go customers as well.

Along with a great coverage will come faster speeds and this means downloading and uploading images and video will be a much better experience, while saving time too.

This investment was needed because of the number of consumers in the area using smartphones and netbooks, both of which require a good 3G service in order to offer access to the internet.
