BBC will beam election results on Big Ben

Election night is one of those occasions that only happens a couple of times every decade, so after weeks of coverage it all boils down to the 6th May and the broadcasters want to make sure that their election night show comes out on top.

Unlike a sporting event there are no TV rights for the election coverage and this means that broadcasters are pulling out all the stops to ensure that no matter who wins the election, it is seen on their show.

The BBC has announced that it will be beaming the election results onto St Stephens Tower, where Big Ben can be found.

The projection will start as soon as the first results begin to come in, right up to the point where the result is known.
