The mobile phone service provider 3, will be enlisting the help of “Rocky” in its latest advertising campaign.

The campaign, developed by the Glue London agency, is said to be worth around £7 million and will run in cinemas as well as on the TV.

The adverts will be based on the Rocky IV film, the one where the all American hero travels to Russia to face the huge and seemingly unbeatable Ivan Drago.

The adverts started to air at the weekend and will run until the 21st June.

A deal has been made with Virgin Media’s entertainment channel Virgin1, which has picked up the film series.

The adverts are expected to be shown during the films but it is not known if they will form a sponsorship deal or there will just be advertising during the film’s breaks.
