Eutelsat and Euro1080 sign agreement

by David Allen

The satellite service provider, Eutelsat Communications, and Euro 1080, will be forming a partnership that will be charged with producing new content for the 3D TV channel being broadcast through Eutelsat, via the Eurobird 9a satellite.

Euro 1080 has a lot of experience in 3D TV, with its own production company, Alfacam, which has been a pioneer in the development of HD TV, and recently has been involved in the production and recording of sports events and live concerts in 3D.

In fact Alfacam begin working in 3D back in 2007 and so has had some time to perfect the art of delivering outside broadcast.

It now boasts new outside broadcast mobile units, known as OB43, which are used to produce high end 3D TV material.
