Following a new deal with BT, it looks as if the mobile and broadband provider Orange could be bringing back plans to launch a new online television service.
Orange recently agreed with BT that its service could use the superfast broadband network that BT is currently installing in many locations around the UK.
Apart from offering a fast broadband connection this service is ideally suited to online TV services.
Orange TV has been running in France for some years and should have been launched in the UK in 2007, but was cancelled before it had the opportunity to interest consumers.
With improved bandwidth with BT, the prospect of an early launch for Orange TV’s IPTV service is very much on the cards.
