Samsung has announced that its SNE-60 e-book reader will soon be out in the UK.

Although it’s perhaps likely to struggle to make an impact, given that the iPad is also about to spring forth, and that can be used as an e-reader, amongst many other functions.

The SNE-60 is a traditional e-reader which uses a 6 inch, 600 x 800 greyscale E-ink screen to display its text on.

It comes with wi-fi (but no 3G) and a built-in MP3 player for audio book duties.

The device has enough memory to store up to 1,200 books, with further expansion available via an SD card.

According to Pocket Lint, the SNE-60 will cost £300, and will be out in July. That’s pricier than we imagined it would be, as for not a huge amount more (£429), you can get yourself a 16GB wi-fi iPad.
