Free iPhone 4G scam warning

by David Allen

They say beware of things that are free, and the offer of a free Apple iPhone 4G just has to be too good to be true according to the security firm Sophos, which is warning internet users not to be taken in with such an offer.

The offer comes in an email that is asking for volunteers to try out the new iPhone 4G completely free of charge.

For some people that is going to be an offer they simply cannot refuse, especially as the email says that they can keep the iPhone after the test.

However this is, of course, a fraud designed to steal personal information from the victims by getting them to click on a link in the email which takes them to a website that has nothing to do with the iPhone.
