Blinkx launches mobile video search

May 21, 2010

A mobile version of the Blinkx video search engine has been released which is designed to assist the mobile phone user to find video online in an easier and more straightforward manner and of course, it is the iPhone that this has been aimed at.

However, there is that old issue of Flash, which of course does not work on the iPhone.

A lot of videos use Flash but at the moment the Blinkx mobile engine omits Flash video as this would waste the iPhone user’s time and, as with all phone users, they hit the button and expect it to work.

The search system uses a complex conceptual search algorithm, speech recognition as well as video analysis to find the right content for the user from all around the internet and not just YouTube.
