ITV in Nike advert mess up

It was supposed to be the major advertising event for the US based Sportswear Company Nike and the foundation of Nike’s multi million pound investment in the World Cup, until it all went wrong on ITV.

The lead up the World Cup in South Africa started during the Champions League final on ITV1, with a three minute long advert designed to launch Nike’s “Write the Future” marketing campaign around thirty two countries.

However, for some viewers a transmission fault meant that the final six seconds were not shown, which is a bit of a disaster considering that the actual slot would have cost anything from £350,000 to £500,000.

It is believed that ITV and Nike have come to some agreement over the loss.
