BSkyB and VM close to deal

May 28, 2010

It may have gone all quiet on the sale of Virgin Media TV, but behind the scenes, there has been a lot of work going on: an announcement of an agreement between BSkyB and Virgin Media is imminent.

Virgin Media put the channels up for sale last year and then for some reason pulled out, but now it seems the time is right and Virgin Media TV, which is made up with Bravo, Living and Virgin 1 could join the Sky TV group as early as next week.

The sale is estimated to be worth around £160 million, but this is BSkyB and Virgin Media so negotiations will be more about the finer details rather than the actual price, this could include carriage agreements and access to premium content.
