BBC talks World Cup

The BBC has been outlining the plans for the coverage of the FIFA World Cup starting on the 11th June when France play Uruguay.

All of the allocated games will be shown on BBC One and on the BBC’s website; it actually looks as if these games will not be shown in high definition on the BBC HD channel.

BBC HD will be showing extensive highlights and additional programming associated with the event, but no mention of the live games!

The first England games will be against Slovenia on the 23rd June, with a kick off at 3 pm, which will mean a quiet afternoon in the UK.

If and when England get past the first round, all games will shown on the BBC and ITV.
