The commercial division of the BBC in the US is to get a new boss, following the departure of Garth Ancier, from the top job at BBC Worldwide (BBCWW) America.

The new president of the group will be the former boss of Nickelodeon Networks and CEO of the online TV service Next New Networks, Herb Scannell.

BBC Worldwide (BBCWW) America is a growing brand in the US and Herb Scannell comes with a vast amount of experience in that particular market, despite having left the role of CEO at Next New Networks in 2008, he did remain on as the executive chairman.

The job will be to work on expanding the division across the US, which is the largest market for the BBC outside of the UK.
