UK advertising sector to grow

There is some good news for commercial TV broadcasters as Group M, a buyer of media content run by Sir Martin Sorrell, increases its advertising growth forecasts for this year.

Initially the group was sticking to its prediction of zero growth in the UK advertising market as a whole for 2010. But recently something has changed within the marketplace and so the initial assessment has now been revised to show a small growth of 4.2 per cent on the year.

The growth area is television and in fact, the initial estimates for this sector was a decline in revenues, but this has since been adjusted to take into consideration changes in the market and is now showing a prediction of an increase of 12 per cent on the year.
