Sony PlayStation Move website now online

Sony has cut the ribbon and opened the official site for its PlayStation Move motion controller.

Move will go head to head with Natal, the Xbox’s similar system, although the Move is expected as soon as next month (rumour has it). Natal won’t arrive until the autumn.

An announcement on the Move’s release date is expected at the E3 games show, and if this is the case, it makes sense that the website has been rolled out just before E3 happens next week.

The Move site contains a collection of videos showing off upcoming games in action. There’s a Brunswick Pro Bowling game, for example, which illustrates the way the wand controller can detect the spin being put on the ball by the bowler’s wrist. Clever.

The list of supported games includes the above, plus SOCOM 4 and Toy Story 3, and some others which still have working titles like Motion Fighter (a Fight Club style brawling game).

More games and doubtless some bigger names will be announced soon, quite possibly at E3.

Check the website out for yourself at: http://us.playstation.com/ps3/playstation-move

And later this summer, prepare yourself for some strange scenes in living rooms up and down the country, as families attempt to partake of virtual archery with a small device that looks suspiciously like an “adult” toy.
