Adobe warning over PDF flaw

by David Allen

As if being criticised by Steve Jobs from Apple is not bad enough, Adobe has had to admit that there is a serious security issue within the Reader, Acrobat and the Flash Player software.

According to Adobe, this issue has the potential to allow a hacker to take over an infected computer and it makes no difference whether it is running Windows, Mac or Linux either.

Currently, Adobe is working on a fix for the problem, but in the meantime users are advised to ensure that their security software is up to date.

The PDF has become a popular form of sending documents via email as they cannot be easily altered, but this issue could have long term effects on the popularity of the PDF software to share documents.
