iWork coming to Apple iPhone 4

Apple has managed to inadvertently leak information about iWork being available on the iPhone 4.

The leak occurred when Apple put an image of the iPhone 4 up on its website, clearly showing the option “Open in Keynote” on the screen.

Keynote is the presentation arm of the iWork office suite, which also contains a word processor and spreadsheet.

iWork is available on the iPad (and the Mac, of course), but thus far not on the iPhone.

Apple swiftly removed the image and replaced it with another, suggesting that they’re trying to persuade the feline to get back into the sack.

Of course, now the news is plastered all over the web, that isn’t likely. Pocket Lint seem to have spotted this one first.

Wired theorises that the reason for implementing iWork on a handset with a (relatively) tiny screen could be that the iPhone 4 will output HD video, so users could display presentations via their iPhones.

That would indeed add an extra dimension to Apple’s next-gen smartphone for many.
