Logitech to use Harmony Link remote

June 8, 2010

Along with the announcement of Google TV, there have been some sideline announcements related to Google’s attempt to take over the TV in the home.

One announcement comes from Logitech which has been charged with producing a remote to control Google TV and has now revealed the Harmony Link.

This system is said to be able to use just one remote of the user’s choosing as the Harmony Link is able to read any IR signal, which is handy.

This will also mean that the owners of smartphone with the appropriate app will be able to control the set top box from their hand held device, making everything so neat and easy to use.

Logitech will be opening up the Harmony Link application in order for developers to work on producing apps for Google TV.
