Vodafone, who will be exclusively offering the Samsung Galaxy S 16GB in the UK, has put the mobile up on pre-order.

The smartphone, which is expected to ship on Tuesday of next week, has many folks excited as a potential alternative to the iPhone 4.

It’s very nicely kitted out, with a 4 inch super AMOLED display, a 1GHz processor, 5 megapixel camera (that can record HD video), 16GB of memory (expandable to 32GB), GPS, 3G and wi-fi.

The handset is Android based, running version 2.1.

So what’s the damage? £35 per month for two years, with the handset thrown in free. That also gets you 900 voice minutes and a 1GB data allowance.
