It seems that, much like the PlayStation 3 before it, the Xbox 360 may be about to go on a diet.
A new “slim” version of the console will be revealed at E3, according to an Italian advertisement leaked online, and spotted by TechRadar.
The ad, which bears the title “Vivi Oggi” (“Live Today”) shows a slimmer black Xbox 360, with stylishly contoured lines.
According to TechRadar, the unit will come with built-in wi-fi and a 250GB hard drive.
We should get confirmation of this soon, as E3 starts tomorrow. The big factor here will, naturally, be the price.
According to some analysts, Sony’s console is rapidly gaining sales momentum on the Xbox, following its price cut last year. Strategy Analytics forecasts that the PS3 will sell 14 million units globally in 2010, and the Xbox 360 will trail on 10.5 million.
The new Xbox, if it is indeed on the way, is unlikely to weigh in at a basement price, mind you, considering the large hard disk and built-in wi-fi. We shall see.
