The FIFA World Cup may just be getting into its stride, but already there is a winner emerging from the sidelines and it means additional costs for the England fans.

The satellite digital TV provider BSkyB has signed a deal with the organisers of Euro 2012, for the live TV rights to the qualifying matches leading up to the tournament.

This means that it will not be long before England fans are looking forward to the next major sporting event, but in order to watch the qualifiers live, they are going to need to buy a Sky TV set top box and subscribe to the Sky Sports package too.

Not only has BSkyB got the England rights, it has also signed up to show the live matches involving Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
